Personly i would choose Lord of the rings because i played WoW for a while and trust me when i say it is probably one of the most boringly repetative games out there, i would definatly advise you to stay away from world of warcraft =)

Well I played WoW for more than a year and was totally addicted to it. I also played the 7 day free trial for LOTRO. I got to level 15 on a hobbit minstrel, but I don't know, it just wasn't as great as I thought it would be. WoW imo is definitely more exciting because of the bigger population. It is also more refined so it would be more fun to play at the moment because they got a bunch of instances and good high end content. I just feel like LOTRO isn't that great, as least right now because the classes aren't developed enough yet. I had only 2 healing spells at level 15 on my minstrel and neither were that great. I doubt I would be able to keep a party alive in an instance. So I guess I would say WoW is better just because of the bigger population so there are more opportunities for grouping, its is more developed so it is more fun, and the classes are well balanced. I also didn't like the monster play very much in LOTRO and I think the armor in WoW is better looking and more varied. But I'm not playing either, just waiting for Age of Conan to come out because it is going to be the best mmorpg ever made.
