how does the wii wi-fi work? help!?

you know they just announced that super smash bros brawl has wi-fi so i was wondering do you have to play by yourself when you play with other people around the country i mean like can there be 2 players in my house 1 in california and 1 in canada or does it have to be one from each place

i think super smash bros brawl is region locked... but like i said I'm not sure yet as they haven't released the details... i'm sure you can find the info out on google... even if super smash bros brawl is region locked it's for countries so for your example it would be okay to play as they are all in north America....
