With the new release of Age of Conan, Tabula Rosa, and Warhammer online comming soon, does anyone have any ideas on how Blizzard is planning to compete with these new MMO'S ????

It will compete fine thanks to them just releasing a chance to be in their beta for Wrath of the lich king.

Well Tabula Rasa didn't get bad reviews but nothing extraordinary and there have been mixed opinions of Age of Conan (although overall it seems to be favorable). No MMO that came out seems to at all even threaten WoW.But seriously...I remember similar statements with past MMO releasesGuild Wars is gonna pwn WoW, City of Villians is gonna pwn WoW, "RF Online is gonna pwn WoW, "Face of Mankind is gonna pwn WoW, Warhammer is gonna pwn WoW, and last but not least AoC is gonna pwn WoW, yet none of them has pwned WoW yet.Blizzard doesn't rly need to compete atm but if it ever needed to it could easily compete using it's latest expansion WOTLK

I seriously doubt WoW will have any real competition from any of them, it's an established franchise and we don't know what the heck these new games will bring.

I reckon they are no competition! WoW has over ten million subscriptions, and although players leave, more players subscribe too. With the release of Wrath of the Lich King this year, I think Blizzard arent TOO worried. As well as that, Blizzard will bringing in a TON of money with the release of Diablo 3.I think the competition is average, but Warhammer should be interesting. It will take them a while to build up the subscribers, and while they may be releasing new games, I know many WoW players cant wait for the release of Wrath of Lich King, and the non-mmo Diablo 3.

I would like to give a thorough answer for this question, but I'm feeling lazy so I will keep it short.Age of Conan is out and it is pretty cool, but will probably not attract as many women players, since it is pretty sexist. This will prevent it from overtaking WoW. Also it has high HW requirements which will further erode its player base.Tabula Rasa is probably trying to do too much and is likely to disappoint over the long term. Sci-fi MMOs are harder to do in general, I think. Also, it is supposedly hard to solo which is one of the secrets of WoW's success. None of the reviews have given any indication it has the chops to overtake WoW.Warhammer Online has very little announced that sounds like a WoW killer. At best it sounds like it will be an AoC killer, but that might also be in doubt. Also, early speculation indicates the HW reqs will also be high.
