I was looking at buying a new computer mainly for school but I want to be able to play some games with it.I can't remember the exact specs from the store but it hadIntel Core 2 Duo at 2.2ghz3gigs of RAM500Gig Hard DriveATI 2600 Pro with 512mb dedicatedThe total was $500My main question is will this video card be able to play games ok? The main game I'm going to be playing is Warhammer Online when it comes out in a few months, I'm guessing that its requirements will be between WoW and Age of Conan. I also wondered how it would work with Half Life 2 Games. Thanks!

it'll be *ok*, but i'd find something with more memory on the graphics card (and make sure it's *not* an integrated card. best bet is to get a custom built PC. there are tons of vendors that allow you to configure the PC you want on-line. i use ibuypower.com but i've *heared* cyberpowerpc.com is good as well. i've done some sample configs on cyberpowerpc and they have a good selection. usually you'll get more "bang for the buck" doing a custom built PC.

The 2600 Pro is the minimum-level performance you'd want for games. At the very least, spend $10 more and get the 2600XT instead of the Pro, it's worth it.If you can afford maybe $25 more (after rebate), then grab a Geforce 9600GSO.The 2600 Pro is fine for WoW, a bit weak for Age of Conan which really wants a midrange card. Here's Tom's Hardwares latest list of top gaming cards, broken down by price range:
