Sims 2 pc game help?

I am trying to put in some cheats for the game.. and i ve read everywhere online that inorder to open the cheat window, you hit ctl+shift+c and then enter the cheat code. but for some reason i keep doing this while i am playing and there is nothing that shows up.. any ideas ???

there should be a bar at the top that lets you type in your codeslook for that next time you try it

TO BRiNG THE CHEAT BOX UP TO HAVE TO HOLD SHiFT+CTRL+C MAYB YOUR JUST PRESSiNG THE BUTTONS.. HOLD DOWN SHiFT THEN HOLD DOWN CTRL AND THEN PRESS C AND THERE SHOULD BE A BAR ON THE TOP OF THE SCREEN THAT YOU TYPE YOUR CODES iN

To enter cheats, first open the command console by simultaneously, the keys must be held together, not one at a time by pressing Ctrl-Shift-C. Note that cheats are case-sensitive & you can do this in neighborhood, & Lot.You can click help for some of the simple cheats.
