Default id rather not play on and "old server" long read and some thoughts

id rather not compete against peeps who are sentimental about being on the "beta server" they will know more then me i have only been on for a few days...lol
plus m guessing if we play it right on a new server we can be dominant builders

havana is insane how central it is to every resource in the game and its possible to harvest from any nation -although you get taxed some BFD-tax evasion cuts down on the bite and the ability to quickly move resources around in a game like this is key

every wood and metal can be reached in a straight line out of havana-although there are a few towns that require you to turn your ship once or twice

my plan for the record is to be weaponsmith + forge + lumber mill
I should be able to make most of the pieces of the ship
I'm ditching carpenter it doesnt seem to have an actual function beyond BLOCKS for rigging that is the only thing i saw when i was cycling buildings.
its like the building that makes tar that is the only thing it does but every ship needs tar IE we need someone to make tar-should be the lumberjack by the by

I'm almost think we need someone on "shit building" detail in havana...

as I told gil in game i think havana is the best spot for "home base" we can harvest crap from a ring of towns around it and bring it there and set up all the "factories" there so it will make it easy to trade between us

also in case no one has figured it out there is an "in game teleport" system using ships in different ports that allow you to move around the game without having to sail there

this is key with using the buildings as i said havana with all the "factories" you leave a crappy ship in port when we need to move stuff around or use production you just teleport over in a few sec trade over ZING yer back to wherever you were

I also suggest leaving a ship like this at a "harvest town" you use alot but you only get i think 4 slots? so maybe its not good if you use alot of towns

anyway my thought for 10 buildings-for me that is
1 weaponsmith-drop only OR can be made with drop only deed master draughtsmen-this allows me to make cannons as opposed to farming huge amounts of resources to trade to euro trade for a few guns-the ratio SUCKS by the way-14 ingots of gold is like a day of time for ONE med cannon I can make 4 med cannons in 5 hours of game time

2,3 forges need to smelt the ores and make anything metal for shipbuilding-cannons, nails, headlights, etc-why 2 forges Cris? I'll be working 3 metals AND making ship items...

4 lumber mill- I need wood(basic) anyway for forge(s) teak is in town (there is a town with BOTH teak and oak next to havana forget name) need teak for higher end ships. need oak for everything (and fir)-lumbermill makes most(if not all) of the pieces of the ship

** I think EVERYONE needs to own one in havana-seriously the amount of crap that needs to be made versus time requires multiple lumber mills I burned over a day of time to make enough crap to make a TINY hull today messing around...those guys who want the 104 gunner it will literally take WEEKS of time to make it without enough peeps working lumbermills-I repeat everyone needs to own a lumbermill in havana **

5, 6 ,7 there is an english town south of havana with the big 3 all in one iron copper and silver-iron copper for weapons smith and forge and silver for trading to the euro guy for cannons when we dont have the DROP ONLY weaponsmith deed-will need someone to get zinc (there are multiple towns that have zinc "and" something else...

8,9,10 will most likely be oak/fir lumber camps early on just to get stacks of it in havana
I cant stress the amount of resources/time that is needed to build a ship
as i said it took over a day of "real time" to make enough stuff in a lumber mill to make a TINY hull the tiny hull takes i think 2 hours...a frigate takes an actual day to make-the materials to make it take days...see the math?

**did I mention EVERYONE needs to own a lumber mill?**

in all honesty I was overwhelmed when i saw the depth needed to make a single ship.
I like the fact so much detail is given to the economic game
plus I see a way to do "economic pvp" by abusing some game mechanics-more on that later.

sorry so long,
those are my preboarder thoughts
