My vote goes to: Any of the FinalMotive games (Search Google if haven't heard of them.)

Right now, Imperian has to be the best for me, it's a place where I can go there and relax with friends.

I miss my old days of Dark Castle diku mud, but after I got into 3d MMOs, I couldn't go back to MUDs.

Iron Realms Entertainment tends to have impressive text based roleplaying games. I would check them out.
