friend says her mom hits her?

ok my best friend of three years sometimes has these moments after school on this game where shes extemely hurtful to me. one time i got fed up and told her off. i got back on guild wars (the online game) and she said she wanted to tell me something. she said that her mom hits her "occasionaly" for no reason. she said that it doesn't leave any marks after like a few hours. i guess she just hits her across the face. im writing this one, for advice, and two, because i can't hold it in any longer....its killing me. this was this friday. me and my friend talked to her about it (my other friend was there when she told me) and she said that she didn't want us to tell anyone. she said that next time it happened she would tell.... she wanted to give her mom one last chance. what should i do?

Hi Kate, Have your friend talk to a school council and see if this helps her. If something would happen to her at least you and the school council will know that mom hits her for know reasons. Just be there for your friend if she needs you.A Friend.poppy1

You need to tell someone...if your friend keeps saying that then she'll just give her mom one more chance, and one more chance, and one more chance and she most likely won't tell. Tell someone that you trust that can do something about it. If she is really your friend she'll appreciate the help and her relationship with her mom could possibly turn in the opposite direction and they could grow closer. If your friend isn't telling anyone, then it is your duty as a good friend to tell someone and get your friend and her mom the help they need. If she's really a good friend then she won't stay mad at you. Best of luck!
