AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 2.0ghzvsIntel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T5750 (2.0GHz)Are the speed of these the same? They are both 2.0 ghz, but is there a difference (does one's 2.0 mean more like 2.4 compared to the other etc)? I can't seem to find the answer to this even though there is a lot of debate. Thanks so much.

Yes, both are clocked at 2.0GHz and therefore run at the same speed. However, the number of instructions that can be executed per clock cycle is different for each CPU. Though the T5750 operates at the same clock speed as the Turion 64 X2, it is able to process more instructions per clock cycle, so it is technically "faster" in that sense. But to answer your question, the measurement of clock speed is absolute across all CPUs, so 2.0GHz for one CPU doesn't mean 2.4GHz for another kind -- the number is persistent and does not depend on the CPU in question.Hope this helps.
