Hi Yahooers! If not, Improve it so- as you like.Do I need to buy cables?Thanky v muchYes sorry- an 8800GTAlso so far help is Very informative- Thankyou to everyone!

The power supply with be fine,You are not missing anything,It looks good so far... but there are some possible improvementsYou do not need to buy cables. As for a few changes I would not use any motherboard that uses a nividia chipset (790i in your case) as they are not always stable and and intel chipset is often much better.Make sure that the motherboard you get supports DDR3 memory at thoes speeds. Also what video card are you using.... u forgot to put the last number (800 GT is not a video card)also rather then getting any GT video card you should go for ONE 8800 GTX as it will often outperform lower end video cards in SLI mode.

This is a good system yes. Everything will work with each other. I believe you meant 8800GT for your graphics cards? A couple things to consider though... You need a case that is large enough to house all of that stuff, get a full size case. You also might consider getting 4 gigs of ram instead of 2, it helps a lot. You will probably need some serial ata cables, other than that looks like you are golden. Enjoy.

First I would skip the power supply altogether and get that from a local shop or an online store in the UK. Since you're just starting out you want to keep complications to a minimum. Second, I would change that quad-core CPU to a dual-core one. You can almost always get a faster dual core for less than the quad-core, and as it stands right now anything more than two cores is somewhat pointless as software vendors haven't really jumped on the multi-core bandwagon yet. The only time you'll see any real boost in performance from the extra cores is when you're rendering 3D animations or batch converting audio or video files. Also, make sure your motherboard comes with hard drive cables (they almost always do). Since your hard drive is an OEM model that means it's just the drive and doesn't come with any cables. Other than that I'd say you have a pretty good setup. As for the operating system, I wouldn't recommend using Vista, especially since you plan on going a lot of gaming. I personally would go with Linux since it's free and you can run most Windows games and apps in Linux using Wine, but XP is a good choice if you want to stick with Windows.

You're on the right track. My only recommendation is that you switch power supply to Silverstone or SeaSonic brand. They are much more reliable and deliver cleaner power.

Big probs with the 790i chipset boards. Data corruption and some say they lose their hard drives with 790i boards. Read the reviews at Anandtech.com where they go into detail about the 790i boards. I suggest an X48 board. I just built a rig with an Asus X48 board and a couple ATI 4870s in Crossfire. A real monster. If you don't wanna spend 600 on video cards go with a couple 4850s which are going for 170 after rebate. The 4850 dusts the 8800GT and with an X48 board you'll run both cards at full-blown X16. I was gonna use a 790i board and run 2 9800GTXs in SLI till I read the reviews on the board and saw what people who bought them said on Newegg. Glad I went with what I did. X48 is the best chipset out right now. The Corsair TX 650 PSU is NOT Nvidia approved for 2 8800GTs in SLI but the Corsair TX750 is. http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_build_psu.htmlAlso, if you're gonna build a rig like that dont skimp on the ram. Put 4GBs in. Use 2 2GB sticks as 2 sticks overclock better than 4 sticks and aren't as hard on the Northbridge chipset.
