Runescape is pretty fun. I play it sometimes, but it's kind of hard. I know lots of people who are flying through the ranks; I must just be bad at these kind of games. (sigh).In Runescape, you create your own character (which cannot be changed later), and give it a name. The game launches you into a tutorial, (which you cannot skip- I've tried) which is very helpful (the first time). After you complete it, (which should take an hour or so, if you've got smarts) you can choose to return to the mainland, where you can do just about anything you want, which includes killing monsters, (and other players) catching and making food, and crafting armor, jewelry, and clothing. You can talk unlimitedly to other players, but there is a filtering machine to block out bad words. (Some players find ways to beat it- and just cuss their heads off. You just have to ignore it, I guess.) You can also trade with other players.Runescape has its downs, (like any other game,) but I think you'll like it as much as I do. It requires no downloads whatsoever (unless you don't have the Java plugin installed, which is free) and is completely free, unless you buy a membership for $5 a month. (I don't have the membership. Members get special privileges, but most people get along just fine without it.)
