Rant Final Thoughts / What I would see

For the past few weeks I have been one of the acting leaders of Armada, and I would like to think that I have helped to set the society on the path to be successful. As I have said in my introduction post I have been in the leadership postition in many many actual MMO games, for many many years.

In this role I have noticed alot about this society, and game, and would like to make some comments to the society as a whole, as well as some suggestions.

My first suggestion is about the leadership roles in the society. About the voting, all good in theory however like I mentioned to Ren, what we may like to do instead is have 2 co-leaders and allow them to choose officers. As well instead of holding elections monthly, perhapse every 2 months, or even every reset. This would allow the leader to implement and run plans to win the map, which is what our ultimate goal is. No matter what your choice for charachters.

My second suggestion has also been mentioned to Ren. If I am not able to play, I would suggest that Minoman take my place as co leader of Armada.

Third, we need to watch the arguments. Don't matter what anyone thinks, any amount of what can be bickering going back and forth aint right. And dont try tellin me it wasent bickering, I'm not going to argue anything like that if I'm here or not.

Fourth, I would suggest having ship building parties every 2 days. Like we did tonight everyone that helps, with production, will be given a title, free and clear, to do what they please with. This game has many lacking qualities which will become painfully apparent once players start capping. There are only so much ships you can go kill together, or port battles before the game starts getting that repitious play style. You need to make reasons for players to come in and play. PvP would be the main one I use, however as we have seen shipbuilding is a nice hour or 2 of production and hunting that the whole society can get into without having to play the same mission over and over again. In games such as WoW or EQ you have raids, I'm not sure if this game is going to be able to run something like that.

Fifth, recruitment. We need to get a recruitment officer sooner rather than later, one that will be able to do the shouts in Nation and be able to competantly answer questions. I think this is the most important officer postion in the society because it will determine the future of the society. Get good, helpful, selfless people in the guild, and it will work out great. Do not be worried about making a "big" guild. Size is not a indication of how well a guild is doing. For example when my guild was about 12 great players we got more done than when we were 140+ strong. Not only that by everyone was happier. Moral of the story, selective recruting is better than getting everyone in game.

If I am not able to play I wish everyone good luck and a happy year. If I am going to be playing you can expect to see alot of what I have posted here coming into effect, even if you dont always see me due to the time differences.

Well, you do know that im still a socirty leader but I could demote myself to one rank down after all I did help pay to get the guild started (As in put it on Bonny) but I would have no matter what. It is our job to be as one.

Eh!? What arguments If people are arguing I would suggest we should make a rule about it so if thy keep on going on about it and not stoping then yah I think thy should be kicked from vent for a few days and if thy start it in the guild chat then its time to kick them from the guild.

I would like to vote for Paco he is after all the best person who knows what he is doing in the game and quests so he does have good leadership skills added to his knowing. I also have talked to Ren about it and he wouldnt mind promoting him but we're going to wait for your word for it.

Personally, I love to repeat missions in my own comfort zone. I came to the Bonny server for RP interests. What mostly attracted me to joining was the VoiP as well as established players. mmohawk was a suprise, but I more than willing to roll with the punches as long as another offer doesn't drop at my inferior boots. I am loyal to fault. More so than you may understand coming out of Beta testing to be given such a consideration.

Folks be ready to step up in more ways than one. There are many other ways to find players, but many of which seem beyond the reach of the Caribbean itself. It will be how well we can advertise our presence and where we will do so. I am present on the FLS forums and the IRC Coldfront channel as ClericTaven and will proclaim my alliance as a .sig and hopefully those interested in a softsell approach will come seeking our offering.

My own shopping for a guild must include an ability to VoiP, from there we can grow as the Society bonds with each other. It will not happen one night nor two, but over time we will come together to watch each other's backs in battle. This is what I sought as an independent. I will contribute all that I can to the common cause before us. I will be first to admit that I can make an impact, just that my flame only has a certain amount of fuel given to it. My agendas are split in dedication to be a voice as earned with reputation upon the horizon.

Our visibilty is as much a /shout as those whom come to ask any of us to join the ranks amoungst us. It is not a question of size, but more that we can keep attention to those that are interested in our offering.

Once a guild is formed on any server, the common goal must be met with passion and without that a member is lost in a fog. The more we gather, the stronger we will become. I have less doubt that we can become a force united, but then to be a precense is still built on our own reputation together.

I do not want to bog this reply down with url's that can point to how that can happen overnight, but ask and I can provide in the morrow.

I have provided hints including yet to come aspects of how we place ourselves amoungst the ranks of other societies that offer the same invitiation. It is a matter of the collective, unallignied newbies that are still looking for a home and companionship.

Help them out and we can find a fit, elsewise we grow our reputation as one that is available to them when they are ready.

very nice disussion here boys. I agree with many things said here and I'm flattered you nomiated me as a co leader of the society, adam. if it turns out I'm appointed that position, I'll certainly do everything in my power to do the job well.

as far as the recruiting is concerned, I also believe that will be extremely important in what kind of role our society is to play on this map (like port battles, pvp, trade, etc etc).
