Default Has anyone else had bad experience with USGoldbuyers?

I don't know if anyone has tried selling old gold jewelry or class rings, but if you do, Do Not Use this place (USGoldbuyers.com)!!! I called them on a Friday, told them what I had, was told by one of their employees, (I won't mention Stan's name) that I could expect a payment of about $340.00. I thought "Wow" that will come in handy. So when they recieved my pkg. and assessed it, imagine my surprise & mood when I was told that I would only recieve $131.00. When I had the audacity to question this I was told that after I jumped through a few hoops, they would send my property back to me via fedex at my cost. I spoke with a "Partner" in the business, his name was Gene Furr, after finally locating my file, he told me "they were doing me a favor by buying my gold", I found this rather poor business practice and I became even more frustrated. Very poor business practices indeed, they would not even address the fact that their employee screwed up. When I questioned this, they (Gene) refused to issue my payout and insisted upon me sending a release form to them so that they could send my property back to me.So, overall, I would say my experience with these morons was LESS than satisfactory!!!! BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE!

Try united gold refineries, they essay your gold and pay you about 97% of what your gold value is, Any other place like goldkit.com will RIP you off, I have heard stories worst than that before. Good luck with united or try garfield refiners they cater to jewelers but will deal with individuals.

I'm not familiar with that company. There are a bunch of other companies out there that you see advertising on TV a lot ... one of them is very reputable http://www.goldintomoney.com/company-reviews/business-is-booming-for-gold-buyers-like-cash4gold

Default Beware usgoldbuyers ripoff

Let me first tell you I have bought and sold gold since 1980, and understand the payment structure percentages etc. and have used many refiners.
As a dealer I went in to sell them gold and silver just to satisfy my curiosity about how they supposedly paid more than the refiner I had been using for many years.

In a conversation with the manager who was inspecting my gold I found he was always trying to tell me how big the company was and how he spent millions each day buying gold so he knew more than me and if I were happy with my refiner why was I selling him my gold.

He also made references to how much people like me pay and I bluntly told him he did not know me so how could he make such rash remarks.

At the end of the transaction I was told Grannys ( that's a reference to old ladys) sold him more gold than I brought him, I sold him 271.5 pennyweights that's 13.55 troy ounces.

As he tested my gold he made remarks on how most gold is under karat and made in the back of jewelry stores.

130 pennyweights of the gold I gave him was from a Tiffany 18k dresser set made in the 1930's he made remarks that even the Tiffany gold could be under carat.

He did find that two victorian braclets that I had not filed into were good gold filled then he proceeded to act like the nasty person he really is and kept trying to provoke me.

I was under the impression that I would be paid 98% the website states paid up to 98.5 % so I figured least he would pay was 97% which I was getting at my refiner.

He nor his worker ever discussed a percentage with me.

I was told they would melt the gold and an independent company does the assay that's why there is a $35 charge.

The assay I was told would take approx. 90 minutes.

When I came back to get paid and saw the assay it was clear to me I was taken.

If I had sold my gold and silver at my refiner on the stone without assay I would have been paid almost $500 more.

I asked for my bar of gold and was told it was chemically refined already but they were willing to give me pure gold in return.

In all my years of selling gold, no refiner has ever told me I could not have my bar of gold back when I was not happy with the assay.

They then proceeded to tell me it was chemically refined so which was it! melted or chemically refined.

Its clear to me they could not return my gold or I could prove they were thieves.

They are thieves no question about it, if you read the website you are told your merchandise can be retrived so what makes my transaction any different from others.

There is a you tube T.V. news video that's shows newscasters selling them gold but doing a lousy job never is there any mention of how much was paid per pennyweight.
