ok as always expect it to be long.

1st) I have dumped around 100k into "shipbuilding" for the guild-im sure many peeps are thinking "bullshit" in the last 4 days i have made over 30k a day and I have nothing but resources in my warehouse to show for it. many peeps ask ME specifically for stuff simply because i have handed them piles of crap in the past.
I don't have a problem with hooking peeps up I think cash is the EASIEST resource to get in the game. so don't mind burning it to generate piles of resources for peeps to use. I honestly keep around 100+ of most of the basics on hand at all time. working with diego (who is a good RL bud of mine) i can generate pretty much anything given time and a little cash.

2nd) I have set it up so between diego and myself, I can build ships without much if any "outside" help. I did the math breakdown and many things I need can be gotten from farming ships or from doing trade ins (wine comes to mind). diego like to fight but not do economy so why not set him to farming the very things ill need by letting him satisfy his bloodlust and at same time set up his 10 slots to feed my 10 slots to feed our desire for better ships to kill more enemies to get more cash to fund more buildings to make more ships to kill more enemies?
oh yeah currently i have approx 2/3-3/4 of all the recipes in the game im missing some ship recipes and that about it-so i can make most if not all outfittings up to rank 6

3rd) I don't expect anyone to be a "socialist" like myself in relation to the guild that's ok. I take the long view of games such as these. everyone wants the 104 gun ship (by the way i can make it and all the other lvl 50's) it will take ALOT of resources and cash to make i think ren said its computed at 756k to build it-for the resources alone...
By extention I don't want to "force" peeps into the economy I play games like these ALOT so to me its just time im burning when i blow cash on making iron ore or oak or whatever I don''t have alot of currently.

4th) if you are going to ask me for resources so you can "use time" on your building simply because its maxxed on time and then ask me for cash to use said time then maybe YOU should play more or build less. as basically is what im doing is working so you don't have too.

5th) I could care less about some kind of tracking system to see who has "done what" . again being honest I would expect that I would be at the top of the list simply because of the amount of time I play does that mean Cris gets 1st choice on anything that comes down the pipe? that will get old fast for those with less time to burn then myself.

6th) I'm done numbering my thoughts and am preparing to launch into a diatribe

basically I see the game as this:
I like playing the game
I like the economic "game within the game"
I see a way to use the economy as a pvp tool and I like this
I like playing with other people
I like thinking that I am a part of "the team"
I Don't like thinking I AM the team
I Don't like peeps in guild charging me for things that I'll happily give away especially if it HELPS THE TEAM
(did I mention I like being on "the team")

frankly I don't understand some peeps LOVE of money in a virtual world it comes easily and is pissed away twice as easily. I'll admit I have sold chars/equipment/gold online (I made over 5k playing everquest the 1st year).

if your desire is to have a million dbs' by the end of the month its doable Im guessing money will just come easier as we level up. as i said ive made 30k a day the last 4 days (although i only made 10k today but i worked in rl).
here's the thing now you got a million db's should i sell you the invincible deed it took me that month to make for 1mil (although im guessing they will sell for 5mil+ if they are ever for sale). now you are broke I have a million dbs...

everyone works together -I'm not saying 10 slots are "guild production only", I'm saying you pick a niche and work that niche to help the guild, "move forward"

I have come up with ideas for peeps to set up in 2 towns have a warehouse in havana to help with transferring stuff and then thats it. you got 2 shit ships in "build towns" 1 hauler and your "real ship" for 4 ships
you never have to do anything then check on your buildings twice a week build your shit and then haul it to havana-yes I know cargo hauling is boring I do it around 1/2 the time im playing so trust me i have spent many hours reading books(reading myth series from robert aspirin again) as i sail back and forth between towns.

I don't blame anyone for not wanting to get into the economy its complicated and there is a somewhat steep learning curve (I've blown over 30k setting up buildings and warehouse that i tear down the next day). if YOU enjoy the combat way more then the building/economy stuff, I have ideas for you. if you wanna be the richest guy ever on the server i have ideas for you.

WHAT CRIS WANTS? this is the important part...
I'd like to see some kind of commitment from peeps to the guild that DOESNT require any kind of cash incentive
IE you build me item/resource X for NOTHING, in turn I hand you back deed/item X for nothing.
we can use my example of the 1 million db's I WILL build a 104 gunner even if its just me and diego doing it (I promised him I'd build him one and I like keeping my word to diego). I'm guessing it will take the two of us 3-4weeks to make the stuff needed to do the big plunge of 3.2mil click for ONE deed
thats right it cost 3.2mil DBS to click "make it" to make ONE 104 gunner

so are you personally gonna save up the 5+ mill the 104 gunner is going to go for or will YOU help ME build one for someone else (I don't have a navy char as of yet) in the hope, nay the dream of owning a 104 gunner yourself

I realise much of my socialist crazy talk sounds like im a hippy treehugger looking for warm and fuzzy love
what I'm looking for is people to see the game for what it is-its a TEAM stratedgy game.
team requires team work
if you are going to make me oak logs then charge me +10% the cost to make them ill build an oak camp (or have diego do it) and just get the logs for that 10% savings-when you ask me for a ship deed it will of course have a +25% mark up to compensate for YOU making me do work that could have been "shared". lets see thats a profit of 25% from you for wanting to make 10% profit from me that you didnt get...net result I'm 25% ahead thanx to you wanting to make 10% from me...cris math is pretty simple isnt it?

my suggestion: I repeat suggestion
we need people to fill "roles" in the chain

metal guy-iron copper forge (to make ingots) should be an FT so he can make brass which requires a "green book" which means its FT only for those who didnt realise that the book titles are color coded

wood guy-oak fir teak ironwood-lumbermill. I'd say should also be an FT for "backup shipbuilder" as i have ability to make adv lumbermills but they require owner is FT.

provision guy(s)EASIEST thing to do and also the bottleneck as it requires the most different things to make besides a ship and all ships need at least 1 unit of provisions. I actually see this as 3 different guys
A)textile guy-makes sails and rope BUT can make stuff for provisions with his plantation that can make hemp and 3 things for foods
B)leather guy-makes leather and stuff for provisions-has pasture to raise cattle plantation to raise food to raise cattle a tannery and a slaughterhouse
C)provisoner guy-makes RUM and provisions with the help of other 2-sugar plantation refinery distillery, provisioner

ship guy-everyone wants to be end producer (well most ft's) this requires FT to use shipyard

now in reality people can be "multiclassed" and do one of the jobs while doing something totally unrelated like doing provisions and making iron ingots.
which is fine as long as you can stick to filling your "guy" role.
if peeps follow my 2 build towns + havana warehouse I may suggest that everyone has a lumbermill in havana simply to aid with making the parts of the ship the 104 gunner will require im guessing 4 lumbermills working "24 hours a day" for 2 weeks (prolly 17 days i gotta look at my math again) to make all the stuff for it. the actual ship itself take 2.5 days to make (and 3.2mil dbs!)

think on what you want to do or if you don't care but want "free ships" then I'm asking for 4 or maybe 5 of your slots to build for the team
Im going to be using all 10 of mine (and diego's) for the team.
if I feel that I AM the team (with diego as co-capt.) then I will most likely be re-evaluating why i am here.

anyway its 1am im sure i have more to say but i cant think of it now
